Layla & Chris. Benjamin Wheeler Workshop. London, January 2023.

Back in Autumn 2022, I saw the Mr Benjamin Wheeler post about his upcoming and one-off workshop he had scheduled for January 2023. I knew I had to attempt to procure myself a ticket but with only 20 places over two dates I knew I had some competition. The release day came and saw me sat at my desktop (grateful for the numerous alarms I had set myself as reminders - forgetfulness is one of my struggles) refreshing the browser. I'm now sat here reflecting on what an incredible experience I had and am. still amazed I managed to get a ticket. They sold out within hours (the first hour?!) and when I attended the workshop I wasn't at all surprised to meet the most wonderful and talented bunch of photographers from all over the world. Switzerland, Norway, Canada... This is the draw of Ben's artistic talent.


Safe to say, I had the most incredible experience yesterday learning from @benjaminwheeler. So very grateful to Ben and the team who carefully curated a very intimate and painfully stylish affair. I'm going to break the workshop shoots into two separate blog posts, and this first one will feature Layla Young and her fiancé Chris Jacobs, and the team tagged below.


I've come away bursting with tips and advice and am so very inspired. Look our for many bridal trends expected to thrive in 2023: from the soft voluminous shapes, to floral wedding dresses, long sleeves, sheer and textual fabrics to the free-formed floral elegance and the understated glamour of barely-there make-up and hair.
