Here are some notes from our bride, Alice, to us at Fineshade Studios, that highlight the unique experience and personal touches of her two-part wedding.
"My dresses are from a charity called Brides do Good and designed by Catherine Deane. The shop donates 1/3 of their profits to charity projects working towards ending child marriage. Having worked for years in criminal and social justice, this was very important to me. Additionally, I was able to purchase designer dresses at discounted prices which otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to afford.Regarding the look, I guess I had always wanted the outfit for the civil ceremony to be simple, non-traditional, and a bit chic given it was in Chelsea, London. I loved the button detailing and the fact that it was a two-piece as soon as I tried it on (first and only dress shop I went to!). The headpiece was very “me," so I knew it was right as soon as I found it. Rupert and I always wanted to get married in an Orangery in London, and after exploring all of them, we decided on Gunnersbury due to the fact it was secluded. We could have a vow ceremony and dinner in one venue, and we fell in love with all the light and greenery when we visited it. We also had a vision from the start to create a day that was classy and wanted to make it as "us" as possible, so we wanted to avoid the "package wedding" which Gunnersbury allowed us to do. There were so many personal touches, from Rupert designing all of the stationery, choosing our own wines, having Rupert’s friends sing, and his friend, who is a professional jazz singer, perform with his band, and our friend as the videographer."

Non-Traditional but Chic Look:
For the civil ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall, Alice opted for a simple, non-traditional, and chic outfit. She chose a two-piece dress with button detailing, designed by Catherine Deane, which perfectly complemented the sophisticated ambiance of Chelsea.
Thoughtful Details and Collaborations:
Following the town hall ceremony, Alice & Rupert selected Gunnersbury Park as their venue for a vow ceremony and dinner. They were captivated by the venue's seclusion, abundant natural light, and lush greenery. Gunnersbury allowed them the freedom to personalize their wedding, avoiding the standard "package" options. The croquembouche in place of the traditional cake stemmed from Rupert & Alice's love of Australian Masterchef.Alice & Rupert put their hearts into creating a celebration that reflected their values. Rupert designed the stationery, they handpicked their wines, and incorporated musical performances by friends & professionals to add a personal touch.
